As we head into this New Year I'd like to take a moment to offer a few words of thanks. First, to all those who made our celebration of the Birth of our Lord so special, especially our choirs who put in so many hours of preparation. All of your hard work certainly paid off it was wonderful. Also, thank you to our children's choir who prepared, not only for Christmas Eve Mass, but also for their annual Evening of Lessons and Carols. It was amazing, as usual. For those who have never attended this event, watch for it next year. You'll be glad that you did. Thank you, also, to those who took the time to help decorate the church and those who served in the different liturgical ministries for all of our Christmas Masses. But my thanks to you goes far beyond last weekend. On behalf of Fr. Pat and myself, as well as all of our deacons, thank you to all those who are involved in the life St. Denis in any way. We have many wonderful groups and ministries here and they could not function without the leadership and membership within each of them. Thank you, also to those who attend the functions that some of our groups put on. It's great to put things together, but if nobody shows us, it can be very disappointing. Those who do come and participate encourage us to want to do more. And thank you to those of you who may not be active in any of our groups or ministries or even attend any of our parish functions. Maybe your schedule doesn't allow you to do so. But we thank you for being a part of our parish for coming to Mass to pray and worship together with us. We may not always know your names, but we certainly appreciate your presence and we thank you for being here. Lastly, thank you from Fr. Pat and myself, our Deacons and their wives and our parish staff for all of those who dropped off baked good and other treats to the rectory and those who gave us personal gifts, as well. Your kindness and generosity are very much appreciated. As we move into this New Year let us do so with the mindset that we will try even harder to follow Jesus wherever that may lead us. Fr. Bob
